Health Equity Organizer
Human Impact Partners is looking for a Health Equity Organizer to lead our advocacy efforts and mobilization of public health practitioners. This is a professional opportunity to be at the forefront of bringing the power of public health to campaigns and movements for a just society.
About the Position
The Health Equity Organizer will create a vision for and lead HIP’s work to mobilize the public health community to engage in social justice movements and campaigns, and will engage in advocacy efforts to advance social determinants of health policy change. This new position will require a visionary and strategic thinker and doer to build out new areas of work. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic health equity and social justice focused leader who possesses strong organizing and communications skills, is comfortable doing significant externally facing work, and thrives in a team oriented and fast paced environment.
To apply, submit a cover letter and resume including three references to email@example.com. We will begin reviewing applications on Friday, February 17, 2017.
Public Health Interns
Human Impact Partners is seeking 2-3 public health interns to support research, advocacy/mobilization, and/or communications projects with our non-profit organization in Oakland, California.
About the Position
Interns will work alongside Human Impact Partners staff on two or more of the projects described in the attached job description, in collaboration with community groups, public health agencies, and other stakeholders. We expect to hire 2-3 interns with diverse skills and do not expect any one intern to support all projects.
Sample projects include:
Research: Conduct literature reviews and collect baseline conditions data. Collect and analyze data using quantitative and qualitative research methods. Write up research findings for reports.
Communications: Help develop, pilot, and tweak a new content schedule across HIP channels: website, email campaigns, and social media engagement. Write blog posts on the intersection of public health, health equity, and social justice issues. Support the development of visual components for content across our channels.
Advocacy/Mobilizing: Support efforts to engage and mobilize public health advocates in Public Health Awakened, an emerging movement organizing for health, equity, and justice — formed in response to the Trump administration.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume including three references, and a brief writing sample to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please indicate which projects you are most suited for. We will begin reviewing applications on February 23, 2017.
